6 Ways to Do Great Event Photography

6 Ways to Do Great Event Photography

Great Event Baltimore Photography is more than just holding the camera right and taking pictures of people. Here are some things you need to keep in mind if you want to cover and event better:

Anticipate Shots Before Taking Them

Familiarize yourself with the location and try to anticipate the people who will attend. This allows you to be prepared and to have an idea on which moments will define the event.

Get Close to the Action

Don’t depend on zoom lenses. Getting close to the action allows the photographer to influence the picture itself, making it more dynamic and lively.

Know What Your Client Wants

It is best if you talk with your client beforehand, so that you’ll get an idea of what they want to see as well as what you’re not allowed to do.

Take Close-Ups

Events are defined by two things: the place and the people in attendance. If you take pictures of the place with the people serving as mere decorations, you’ll fail. Take pictures of the people and let them define the event.

Use a Camera With Fast Lens and Automatic Shooting Mode

A really great event will be fast paced and will have lots of things happening at the same time. You have to ensure that you and your camera can keep up.

Be There Early and Be The Last to Leave

This is a very important rule that should be followed by all photographers. Be there early so that you’ll have enough time to set up your equipment, and be the last to leave so that you won’t miss the chance to take pictures of any happenings for your Baltimore Photography.
